Ceramic Fuse Replacement Sydney

Ceramic rewireable fuses are still found in many older Sydney switchboards, and they are one of the clearest signs a board is overdue for an upgrade. They offer no protection against electric shock and can be incorrectly rewired with the wrong fuse wire, leaving circuits unprotected. Sydney Power Group (SPG) replaces them with modern circuit breakers and RCBOs.

Why Ceramic Fuses Should Go

Rewireable ceramic fuses rely on a strand of fuse wire that melts under overload. They are slow, easy to misuse and provide zero earth-leakage protection, so they cannot save you from a shock. When they blow you are left in the dark fiddling with fuse wire instead of simply flicking a breaker back on.

Replacing them with circuit breakers and RCBOs gives you instant reset, reliable overload protection and, with RCBOs, shock protection on each individual circuit.
