Private Pole Inspection

Inspecting private power poles for defects and safety is an important Level 2 ASP service. Sydney Power Group (SPG) assesses the condition of private poles, service attachments and service fuses across Greater Sydney to catch problems before they become failures.

Because private poles are the owner's responsibility, regular inspection protects against hazards and network defect notices. Our assessments reference AS/NZS 3000 and the Service & Installation Rules of NSW.

What We Inspect

SPG checks the pole base for rot or corrosion, verifies the pole is plumb and stable, inspects the point of attachment, and confirms the service fuse and cabling are secure and correctly rated.

We also assess ground clearances of the service line and note any vegetation or structural issues affecting safety.

Acting On The Findings

If a pole is nearing end of life we recommend replacement; minor issues such as attachments or fuses can often be rectified on the spot. Where the network has issued a defect notice, our inspection confirms the scope needed to clear it.

Inspections are ideal before property sales, after storms, or as routine maintenance.
