Large commercial and industrial supplies on the Endeavour Energy network use CT (current transformer) metering rather than direct-connected meters, because the load exceeds what a standard meter can measure. Sydney Power Group installs and connects CT metering across the Endeavour supply area for the warehouses, logistics estates and industrial parks driving Western Sydney's growth.

The Load Threshold for CT Metering

Once a supply exceeds the current rating of a direct-connected meter (typically large commercial, industrial or multi-unit loads above roughly 100 amps per phase), Endeavour requires CT metering. Current transformers step the current down to a level the meter can safely read. Building the CT Chamber Right

CT metering requires a compliant CT chamber and correctly rated transformers wired to Endeavour's metering standards, alongside a three-phase supply. Endeavour witnesses or verifies the CT installation before energisation, so it must be exact. We design, install and connect the metering to suit your load, coordinating the switchboard and network sides for a large commercial connection.

Fitting out a commercial premises or building a multi-unit development on the Endeavour network? CT metering sign-off is often on the critical path to energisation, so we manage it as part of the connection to keep your program moving.
