Smoke Coming From Meter Box

If you see smoke or flames, call 000 immediately and move everyone to safety. If it is safe to do so, switch off the power at the main switch. Do not open, touch or investigate the meter box. Once safe, call SPG on 0466 125 125 for urgent help.

Your Safety Comes First

A smoking meter box can indicate overheating connections, a failing meter, or a fault in the consumer mains. Fire safety comes before everything — if there is smoke or flame, call 000. If it's safe, isolate power at the main switch and keep well clear of the box.
