What a Surge Can Wreck

Surges can trip or fry breakers and safety switches, damage the switchboard, and destroy anything plugged in — from fridges to home electronics. Repeated smaller surges also shorten the life of equipment without an obvious failure, so it pays to have the installation checked after a big spike.

Finding the Source of the Surge

We test the switchboard, protective devices and circuits to see what's been damaged, and check the consumer mains and supply for signs the surge originated on the network. Where it did, our Level 2 accreditation lets us coordinate with Ausgrid, Endeavour Energy or Essential Energy.
